Training Day

Internet from our site has been incredibly slow and unreliable since arriving. I'm hoping that the weather has played a part. It was 40 last night and other than our first two days, the weather has been pretty wet.

My first priority after getting Dimples settled was to cut the grass and brush around our site as we were inundated by a flying hoard of white socks and gnats the minute we stepped from the truck.

Bob told us that Corree, the USFS interpreter here in Wrangell was featured on the USFS homepage. There standing next to her was Smoky Bear ...... Any guesses on who might have been wearing the suit?????
Ill post again tomorrow as well be in
town again for our bear spray training.

  1. Ahhh.....that view! You and Smokey are living the good life! Dimples is looking good. Glad you guys arrived safely after your long journey. Don't let the bugs get the best of you! I would say keep yourselves covered up but with a 40 degree night, I'm sure that isn't an issue. We survived a little excitement here with the evacuation and all but our heroic firefighters got right on it and kept the fire from getting out of control and becoming a disaster - hooray! Then, we actually got a nice little rainstorm and some cool weather to put the whole fire to rest. Love the blog - keep it coming!
