I let young master Jack sleep in a bit this morning. We cut brush at several sites. Jack hauled and stacked wood will I cut down view-blocking trees.
Jack's wood splitting abilities are coming along nicely. He's remarkably stronger than he was last year and is much willing to learn. Someone left a large stack of yellow cedar at the Lower Salamander site. No wood splits at satisfyingly as yellow cedar. and Jack demolished it in short time.
We headed to town for swim at the Wrangell salt water pool. Actually, Jack did one of the workouts that his coach wrote up for him while I ran. We refilled with water and then headed to my friend Bob's house to pick up two dry suits. We slated to canoe to the Garnet Ledge cabin. In order to reach it, we'll have to paddle across the Blake channel which is two miles of ocean. I thought he suits sounded like a good idea.
Back at camp, we grilled chicken and packed for our trip. Just before we hit the hay, a couple pulled up in a van painted like the van from Scooby Doo. They were from Down Under and were looking for advice on where to camp, the presence of bears, and the presence of rednecks. I've attached a photo of the van that they rented from a company in Vancouver.
Jack will certainly be able to put those wood splitting skills to good use back home in Colorado!
ReplyDelete1. I have no idea why I'm posting as Cozy rather than Donna, but . . . :)
ReplyDelete2. You'll never have to split wood again, Greg.
