Movie Night June 29th

Jack and I hit the all of the sites today as the weather has been bringing out the camping spirit in Wrangell. The weather this summer has been exactly like Colorado......except for the dry air, the complete lack of biting insects, the beautifully dark and star-filled night sky, exactly the same. I'm not sure that it will ever rain again. I miss the pouring rain, I really do. I also brought no warm weather clothing - double front Carhartts are pretty warm in this weather. It has been nice, however, to hang damp clothes in the sun rather than have them grow mold in the hamper.

During a stop at the Earl West recreation area, we were sidetracked by the most incredible crop of blueberries, salmon berries, and huckleberries that I've ever seen on Wrangell island. It must be the sun and warm temperatures. They are EVERYWHERE! We ate and ate and then picked another quart before returning to work.

After finishing our rounds, we drove to town, refilled our gas and water tanks, picked up some food from the freezer, and stopped by the shooting range before making our way to the Nolan Center for the premier of their new digital projection system. In honor of the night, every ticket holder was treated to free popcorn!

We enjoyed "Man of Steel".....that is, I enjoyed "Man of Steel". Or should I. say, I enjoyed watching the female villain in "Man of Steel".......Good God Y'all! I'll leave it to Jack, should he ever decide to blog again, to give you the true review. Thanks to all who have been encouraging him.
