Even though it was our day off, Jack and I decided to work part of the day so that we could have a short day on Friday. The fireworks last year did not start until well after midnight so we're forecasting fatigue for Friday.

Even though the weather has been beautiful, there has been very little recreating in the forest and the brush clearing that we've done should last for the remainder of the season. We have very little to do.

We did make a trip to Long Lake where a local and his wife camp every 4th of July. They live downtown and hate the revelry and commotion over the holiday so they always get out of town. We soon discovered that even they weren't camping so we just drove the Nemo loop road and stopped at several of the more popular sites before returning to camp.

We did head to town later to refill with water and pick up some groceries as every store will be closed for the fourth.

I ran along the lakefront while Jack worked on his Japanese homework.
