Greg -

Janet left for home earlier today.   Yesterday, the weather finally began to cooperate with rain ending in the early afternoon and staying away ever since.  Janet experienced a similar weather pattern last year when the two days without rain were the first and last.   Weather.com even shows the sun icon for the next three days which runs contrary to my belief that no such icon option existed for Wrangell.

My friend Rod donated three freshly caught Dungeness crabs for our last dinner together.  They were so big that one of them would have fed all three of us.  We ate what we could and vacuum packed the rest - they'll make the trip back with me and will be turned into crab cakes.

Jack and I had a busy day after returning from the airport hitting most of the regular sites in preparation for celebration of the fourth.  Jack spotted a bear on the way back - it was a large black bear that ran off immediately into the bush.

Tomorrow for the fourth, we'll be hitting the parade, the lumberjack competition, and then later, fireworks over the strait.    Here are a few shots of the past few days.
