Greg -

It was Asian food night at Nemo Point last night.   Jack plans and prepares dinner once a week (as he does at home) and he did a good job with this one.   We had a couple of chicken breasts that I needed to cook, so I volunteered to grill them while he work away in the camper.    I had pad Thai and Jack had Asian egg noodles with a curry sauce.  Jack wasn't sure about curry going in and after a few bites decided that he's not such a fan.

It absolutely poured for about four hours last night.   It's amazing to see how much water falls on this island.  The lake that was forming around the camper became so deep that I had to chop another drainage system with the maul so that the run off could keep pace with the deluge.

We're off to Long Lake today to do some maintenance work around a lake-side shelter.  It's a beautiful hike and the weather looks to be clearing, so it should be a spectacular day.

  1. Jack - I love that you are being so creative with your weekly dinners. Did you use curry powder in the curry sauce? You might try using an easy hand with the curry or definitely you should try the green curry sauce that comes in a jar. I'll bet you have access to some interesting ingredients up there (or maybe not - could be limited picks). I'll try to think of some ideas for some easy things to make and send them to you. Do you guys ever cook up any of the wild mushrooms? I would imagine some of your friends up there know something about mushrooms - which ones you can eat. We're finally getting some rain around here but it would make you laugh in comparison to the amount you deal with every day.
