Happy 4th of July - Jack and I went to town this morning and watched the parade, which consisted mostly of trucks from the fire department - amazing trucks, I might add. There were about five or six booths that offer the usual festival fare. This year, one of the vendors was called "Cycle Smoothie", where customers powered the blender by pedalling a stationary bike - from what I could see, there weren't many customers. The Elks lodge opens their doors and sells beer and mixed drinks. Main street was packed .....for Wrangell, that is . After walking around the central block five or six times, Jack and I watched some of the logger competition. We're currently back at camp and are planning to head back to town to catch the fireworks at dusk - which is to say around 10:30.
