This is the view from our office window. I'd say that we average about 55 miles a day driving to our work sites each day. The roads are rough, winding, and usually muddy and slick. Add to this mix the fact that there is logging (and logging trucks) in the area, so we usually drive them at 15 miles per hour. This gives Jack a lot of down time. He complains often about the lack of "something to do" on the island and this is part of it. My usual response is that boredom is a state of mind and this, miraculously, seems to remedy the situation. Fortunately, Jack is an avid reader and the library provides him with an endless supply of mental stimulation. We also listen to books on tape, or talk about random topics that come to mind like yesterday's topics of taxation, whether horses and giraffes share a common ancestor, how the royal family is financed, Gandhi and the creation of Pakistan (Jack had those details nailed), the mindset of people who think littering is an acceptable behavior, etc.

What's that first picture? Is that the view from your window at 'home?' (In the airstream?) Jack how is your knitting coming along? Have you made any new animals yet? You could post some pictures of them if you have. I'd like to see them. Can you take that in the truck with you when you are on your rounds? The knitting I mean, not your knitted armigumi.
