Greg -

It's been raining continually throughout the day.  Jack and I did some exploring on some of the rougher 4X4 roads in the area.   This morning, a group of Aussies traveling throughout Alaska in a rented RV stopped by our site.  RV'ing along the Alaskan Marine Highway must be expensive with an RV thirty feet long and with gas at $5 a gallon.  They were "having a look around" - even tougher in a vehicle getting six miles to the gallon.    The roads are quiet today - we only saw one group at Lower Salamander and a couple of guys cutting wood near the Earl West boat access.    Jack and I ventured into town to pick up food from our freezer, refill our water jugs, and stop by the store to buy eggs and milk.   What a difference a year makes - I'd forgotten that everything is closed on Sunday in Wrangell.   We did manage to complete the first two tasks and made our way back to the Nemo site after refueling.

A dinner of king salmon.

Yesterday, during sunnier times, on the Thom's Creek road.

  1. I bet that salmon was a heck of a lot better than the lox I had in the Ikea cafe the other day. Looks delicious!
